The Perfect Window
The Perfect Window

When it comes to finding the perfect window coverings, you want to consider having blinds, curtains (or both depending on your setup), how much light you get, and how much you desire to let sunlight or street light in. When it comes to hanging curtains and blinds, there are several variables that you want to consider, and it’s recommended to make sure you research your precise setup. The following list will explain how to hang curtains and install blinds generally.
When it comes to your curtains, you’ll first want to take precise measurements of the width and height of your windows and where your brackets will go. These measurements are essential for selecting the right rods, brackets, and curtains. Make marks in pencil of where these measurements are. Next, it’s time to choose the style and size of your curtains to secure the correct rods and brackets. Installing the brackets might require a drill, as you might have to drill pilot holes or install wall anchors if your drapes are heavy. However, you might be able to attach the brackets directly to your wall’s studs. Either way, it’s important to ensure your brackets are in the right place. They should be at the correct height and a level distance apart. Now that your brackets are securely placed, it’s time to hang your curtains.
On the other hand, if you decide to hang blinds, this process is similar, yet different. First, you’ll want to take measurements of your windows of where your brackets will go and make your marks. Next, you will have to drill holes to place your brackets evenly. Next, attach the headrail of your blinds into the brackets and ensure they click into place. Next, evenly place the blind’s stems along the headrail and rotate them until you can see the inside parts. Now, attach the vanes by sliding them up and allowing them to snap into place. If your blinds include a cord, install their safety bracket to keep the cord tight. Finally, be sure to test your blinds by tugging on the cord and making sure they work.
Finally, keep in mind that these processes are best done with two people, so don’t be afraid to ask someone for some assistance. Additionally, it will likely be helpful to research your specific blinds or curtains before beginning your process.
